Premier Inn Braintree (A120) hotel

Room fine for the price, standard Premier Inn, however the internal walls were quite thin so you could hear your neighbours and a lot of clattering around early in the morning when they were getting up. Didn’t have the breakfast but there are various options in addition to the Brewer’s Fayre in the nearby area with a Subway, McDonald’s and Tim Horton’s within 5 mins walking distance.

Live local but had to stay while work was being done on my house ,lovely clean rooms,and was made to feel very welcome by all staff,very present place to stay.

Stayed here a couple of months ago. Decent hotel however, around 10:00 in the morning an elderly gentlemen had fallen over and seriously injured himself in the premier in car park ( close too the entrance). After staff had been alerted the manager, Carolyn proceeded too peep outside to assess the situation and then quoted “oh next door can deal with that mess.”I thought it was shocking and unprofessional. Seems like a lovely woman.

I was very shocked with the experience at Premier inn A120 (not with staff). The rooms were absolutely terrible now I'm pretty sure the cleaners are the ones behind it all. As the rooms (i saw two rooms as we were moved from the first one due to smell of smoke) First room smoke hits you immediately as you walked in the door and once we looked round we realised once we opened the window to get air that there was so many fag butt's outside. We had to move as my daughter was coughing so much due to the smell and dirt (dust around the room everywhere) Second room we were extremely late to dinner so we were relieved because smoke smell was gone however the dirt was absolutely shocking once we took a extra look, i can promise you the cleaners aren't cleaning in the mornings they're definitely looking like they have not been touched for a while the dirt where the kettle goes was thick, really dirty dirt. Damp and mouldy smell within the room however no longer smoke unfortunately was late when we got back otherwise we would have gone home. I don't normally moan but I have asked for refund as I'm gutted with our experience. But staff were lovley and we had a lovley meal at brewers fayre and again staff extremely lovley so there's a positive. The shops are located closely and plenty to pick from for food nearby.

Night shift receptionist team are awesome. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Clean hotel, good location next to petrol station with 24/7 Co op and mcdonalds over the road. Nice Brewers attached for breakfast etc.

Perfect location for what we wanted. Our room was average- had some sort of mould/discolouring around the mirror. My brother stayed and had a renovated room

Stayed here over night when visiting family, pleasant experience. Lovely staff, we had Birdie serve us. Enjoyed dinner at the Brewers Fayre. Suited us just fine

It's looking a bit tired now. Needs a lick of paint and simple things like lights working. Skirting board hanging off and squeaky floors due to flooding from the bathroom.

Been there before and everything was fine but the beds seem to have changed this time. Was extremely firm and uncomfortable and didn't sleep well at all

Hotel ok but a bit dirty, needs some money spent on it, I've stayed in a lot of premier inns and this was not very good , staff not very helpful

Very pleasant stay. Staff had great banter at reception, all the ladies there where spot on. Shout out to the receptionist lady spreading christmas joy with her bell!! Will definitely return here on our next visit to the area.

We stayed one night to attend a wedding nearby. The staff were so fantastic in allowing us to check in early and get our children settled. They were so friendly and helpful during our stay. We loved our room and the breakfast was fantastic!

5th Nov 2024: Budget pricing, but great room, comfort and fantabulous customer service. Here we go...... Lass at reception was already having a respectful but good natured banter with another guest when arrived which was ace. I felt at home especially being from oop North. I joined in for the craic and nearly missed my tea and the football! Bar - Top, top work by bar fella. Worked hard, served quickly under huge pressure. Cracking banter. Food manger - You failed on the names!! Couldn't read the card when I returned to my room to post this, but cracking effort! Will post what you wrote (and I smudged in my wallet......) Food server - Made my night - top lass. To the couple on table 52, I wish to attend your 50th wedding anniversary - you should hold it here at the Braintree (A120) Premier Inn in 10 years. We know your life inside/out. I didn't need to know it, but you shared it at quite high volume. Blimey!

I was in the room adjoining the Accessible Room. It was so was so easy having the communicating door. The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful.

Lots of computer check in problems. Only 1 member of staff visible, who couldn't sort out the issues. Fully booked rooms meant one of our party had a room with no lights all night. We were told they couldn't book us cooked breakfast for the next day. But when we entered the restaurant next door next morning the staff had no problem feeding us all....they weren't even busy. We have always had easy visits with many Premier inns elsewhere. We've been in contact since coming home. They were helpful on the phone & eventually resolved some of the issues....

Rooms are great with comfy beds, friendly staff when you can find them. No cafe so using the restaurant next door which is okay.

We were guest for 2 nights. The rooms are clean and sufficient equipped even for longer stays. Typical english breakfast is served at Brewers Fayre just one step next to the hotel. Every staff we met were always very kind and helpful. If we visit the area in future, we would choose premier inn a120 again for sure!

The staff were fantastics and very helpful. We were from abroad for a wedding. If you are dependant on Taxi or Public transport plan ahead. The reception staff tried to book a taxi but the company refused to come. We had to walk to the local Freeport station and missed the train by a whisker. And had to wait another hour for next train.

Stayed here for 3 nights. I was only suppose to have 2 nights. I checked out and checked back in for the 3rd night so i had 2 different rooms. Both rooms were equally as good as each other. Even though its a 3 star hotel this stay was really a comfortable. Socket on one side of the bed for your phone charger. Bigger than usual samsung Tv. Never struggled for wifi or signal during my stay. Bed as always at premier inns are really comfortable and clean and also included a fan due to it being particularly warm. There is a fuel station really close by which has a coop shop inside. Items inside are quite expensive. But has everything anyone would ever need. The breakfast at 6.30am suits me due to work. Breakfast was a help your self service. Really nice breakafast and all the staff at this premier inn were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast time was quiet. UPDATE - I stayed here for a further 4 nights and i was on the first floor. No plug in my room next to bed and no signal on my phone. Bathroom decor full of damp timber and really poor decor. I have had to down grade the rating simply because of this. FURTHER UPDATE - Recently stayed again for a few more nights i was in room 131 and i have decided to upgrade the review. Even though i had one issue during a stay in room previously with signal issues. This room was excellent. I have updated with pictures of the room.

I'm a strong believer that in life you get what you pay for. So we weren't expecting much from this Premier Inn. A great cheap price for 2 nights whilst we in the area for an operation our son was having at Broomfield Hospital. Great location for us, about 15 minutes from Broomfield! This is a bit of a run down and tired hotel but is decent enough. Beds were comfy and shower decent. No plugs by the bed, and bathroom was a bit smelly. But for the price it was certainly pretty good are for money

Always helpful staff. Family room adequate size for 4, though fold out bed harder and lumpier than other Premier Inns we've stayed at. Road noise not a problem (we were in room 20). I imagine lack of air con might be a problem during warmer nights, but they do have a large fan. Update August 2024 Still helpful and friendly staff. It WAS hot in hot weather we found out. Fold out bed was much better and we were in the back of the hotel (room 29) so less sun and no traffic - other than delivery lorries. Ice poles and chilled water available at reception because of the heat. Housekeeping missed dealing with our room mid stay, but reception were very helpful sorting this out that night
